This handbook serves as the foundational reference material for students enrolled in the Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) and Agri-preneurship course. Developed by PTU and HIED under the Erasmus+ Programme, this course is aimed at equipping learners in Sub-Saharan Africa, specifically in Kenya and Somalia, with practical, integrated knowledge of sustainable farming methods and entrepreneurial skills. The purpose of the handbook is to guide learners through content that has been carefully structured to connect theoretical knowledge with real-world applicability in agriculture.
Agripreneurship is used throughout as a transversal competence—infused across all thematic areas of climate-smart agriculture. The vision behind this approach is to ensure that CSA is not merely an environmental practice but a sustainable economic pathway for smallholder farmers. In this regard, agripreneurship is framed not just as an economic activity, but as a mindset and skills essential to transforming agriculture into a viable livelihood.
Objectives
- To enhance VET training materials with CSA knowledge and practices.
- To integrate agri-preneurship competencies into CSA education.
